MIHS Fees & Photos Day

Fees & Photos Day includes:
- Parking – visit MIHS Parking Information page to request parking.
- School picture for yearbook and ASB ID card (Note: ASB card is only given to students who paid ASB Fee)
- Textbook Distribution - pick up textbooks for next semester
- Computer distribution and Tech Support
- Yearbook – pick up your yearbook from last school year
- Pick up Fall Sports Season Tickets that you purchased online in step 3 for Varsity Football, Girls Soccer & Volleyball. (GREAT for Band parents, too).
- Sales of Islander spirit wear and MIHS gear
- MIHS Islander Newsletter – sign up to have our school newspaper mailed to your home monthly.
- Medication – bring any medication and completed paperwork to the nurse
- Counseling – find out how to correct errors on your class schedule
- Support in completing the RSVP process (required paperwork for attending school)
Complete Required Forms and Pay Fees Prior to Fees and Photos Day
Beginning August 14, 2024, parents and guardians will be able to log into their Qmlativ (Skyward) Family Access account and complete all the district forms, permission slips and notifications required for the start of school. These forms need to be completed BEFORE Fees and Photos Day.
Complete these steps online prior to your attendance on August 20 or 21:
Step 1: Complete Required Student Verification Process (RSVP) via Qmlativ (Skyward):
- Update family and emergency contact information (Required of all students.)
- Review and electronically sign all required forms.
- Complete the laptop Acceptable Use Agreement.
Step 2: Add money to your child’s Food Services account. (optional, online or by check)
- While still logged into Qmlativ (Skyward) Family Access
- Select “Food Service” on the left side of the screen.
- Select option to “Make Online Payment”.
Step 3: Pay School District Fees: https://wa-mercerisland.intouchreceipting.com/
Note: Make sure you look for each item in the Categories row:
- Laptop insurance Fee (suggested for all students)
- Student ASB Fee (required for all students)
- Yearbook Fee (optional, students receive yearbooks in June).
- Note: Sports Fees (you can register now for Fall sports but return to pay after your student has made a team)
Instructions to pay school district fees:
- Enter login and password, click on Student’s name
- Under “shop,” click on “Items at Student’s School”, Select items, click on Buy
- When finished, follow checkout prompt and payment
- BRING YOUR RECEIPT TO MIHS Fees & Photos Day
Step 4: Join the MIHS PTSA and make suggested donations to Annual Giving Campaign, Library Contribution, Corporate Match
- Click on the Login or Register button.
- Have only one parent/guardian establish the account for the first time.
- Follow directed prompts to verify your contact information for directory.
- Follow prompts to go through the Back To School Packet to pay PTSA membership and contributions.
- Make payment by credit card or bring check to Fees & Photos Day.
*Already have a Membership Toolkit account from IMS? Use the same login and password on our MIHS PTSA website and it will match up to the account in our database. No need to create a new account.
PTSA Programs Supported at MIHS by your Contributions include:
- College Series presentations
- Student leadership training
- Classroom supplies
- Teacher grants
- Parent Education speakers, and more.
- In addition, we hope that you will purchase a PTSA Membership which connects us and gives us a stronger voice on a national and state legislative level.
Step 5: Complete the Dorian Photography order form
There are two (2) ways to order photo packages:
Option 1: Place your online school picture orders today at dorianstudio.com and search for Mercer Island High School. Make sure to select the “Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23, 2023” when placing your order.
Note: Your online order can be placed before August 22nd & 23rd and up to four (4) days after the 24th.
Option 2: Complete a paper photo package and bring it with you to the Fees and Photos event. Photo packages are being mailed by Dorian to registered MIHS students.
Note: If any family is experiencing economic hardship and would benefit from support in covering photo package or shipping costs, please contact MIHS Associate Principal Lisa Deen at 206.236.3387 or at lisa.deen@mercerislandschools.org for assistance.
Transportation
The District will be providing its own yellow bus transportation service for all Mercer Island High School students who live on Mercer Island and live 1.0 mile or more from MIHS. We have discontinued our King County Metro service. MIHS students will be able to ride any one of our six District yellow buses to school or from school. All buses will drop off and pick up on the bus pullout on 92nd Ave SE. Please go to the Transportation Department on the MISD website for information related to MIHS transportation, including bus stop locations and pick-up/drop off times.
Unable to Attend?
We understand that there will be some students who are unavailable on these days as they may be out of town.
- Follow all the steps outlined above to complete forms and pay fees online.
- Plan on coming to school early on August 30th (the first day of school) to collect your textbooks, laptop, parking pass (if appropriate), etc. The office opens at 7:30am.
