Mock ACT Test Registration
This practice test, offered through Princeton Review, exposes students to the ACT and SAT questions under simulated conditions. Receive scores, learn test-taking strategies, and ask questions at a follow-up session for parents and students. Test results will be provided to the student and not shared with MIHS or any college. No preparation is needed in order to take the mock test.
At this point, we have just registration open for Mock ACT in January, please see below for the detailed schedule
Mock ACT Test
- Test Date/Time: Saturday, January 25th 2025 - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm., Check in at 7:45 in MIHS Commons.
- Cost: If registering by Tuesday, January 21st 2025 , the cost is $35 per student for the practice test, scoring, review session and materials.
- After January 21st 2025: the cost is $45 and students can register, in person, between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. before the test starts if there is availability. NOTE: priority will be given to pre-registered students and available test packs are not guaranteed for walk up registrants.

Official Test Info
The ACT and SAT are different tests that measure similar but distinct constructs. The ACT is a
longer, fast-paced exam, measuring achievement related to high school curricula while the SAT
is shorter, allowing more time per question and measures general verbal and quantitative
reasoning. Many students score well on both exams, but some find greater success with one or
the other. Students taking mock exams have a great opportunity to discover their own
preferences. More information about each exam can be found below, along with links to each

PSAT/NMSQT:
On Monday, October 28 th at 8:00 am, MIHS will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) to all 11th-grade students.

The Life After High School series is sponsored by KCLS and the Friends of the Mercer Island Library. This series of presentations covers various topics for high school students and their parents regarding the college admissions process, college essay writing, conducting college searches and financial aid. All interested adults and students are welcome to attend.
