Mock SAT/ACT Tests

MIHS PTSA provides 6 testing opportunities as a chance to practice a real test, become familiar with a testing environment, and help identify which testing platform is best for each individual student. All this in a ‘Mock’ situation where tests are not recorded or submitted to any high school or college organization. This is a perfect chance to ‘try out’ these tests.

Presidents Letter

Happy New Year, MIHS families!

Well, here we go 2022! We hope that you all had time to relax and enjoy the holidays with friends and family. I don’t know about you, But I’m feeling 22… Everything will be alright if, You keep me next to you…. Let’s all heed the wise words of our lady Taylor Swift as we navigate the um, uncertainty of this school start. We know many parents are feeling super anxious with the state of COVID transmission right now, and if you have not read the Superintendent’s message about COVID protocols, you can find it HERE. Again, we were all in this together and we urge you to be vigilant in keeping your sick kids home according to this district guidance. Yes, we are all experiencing diligence fatigue and just want to get on with our lives, but let’s hold on a little longer as this COVID variant wave does its thing. Hang in there parents! We are all exhausted and frustrated but our MI community will get through this together!

January brings Finals Week, which starts on January 18th. The daily schedule for that week will be available HERE when it is posted. Leading up to finals week, please check the MIHS Homepage for any updates and the most current information.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
MIHS still needs a few parent volunteers to help out at the MIHS Curriculum Fair for current 8th grade families on January 25th. The Fair will be held at the high school from 5:30-7:00pm. Please sign up HERE!

We are also still seeking parent volunteers to serve as ASB parent advisors. Please email president@mihsptsa.org to let us know you are interested and/or for more information. To be considered, please let us know which graduating class you would like to serve with, and what experience you may have in running events, volunteer or otherwise.

The MIHS PTSA will be hosting a table at the 20th annual Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation Breakfast. It is coming up onFebruary 9th, at 7:30am. The event will be held virtually again this year. We would love for you to join us and show your support for all the wonderful programs and services that MIYFS provides, including our two mental health counselors at the high school. Please Register HERE and select Maria Alberto/Debbie Burke as your table captains!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars with no school days for January. There is no school on January 17th in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and no school on January 24th for MIHS grading day. Also, a reminder that TOLO festivities are now scheduled to take place on January 22nd, which is a change from previous guidance from the school.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back and settling back into routines. We wish you all the best as we head into 2022! “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Go Islanders!
