Nominate Outstanding People for MIHS PTSA Awards!

It’s that time of year! It’s Awards Season - a time to recognize those in our community who are all-in for MIHS students!

Each year, the PTSA recognizes outstanding community members for their service in support of our students. We are currently seeking nominations for the several volunteer awards, an educator award, a community business or organization partner award, and a lifetime member award. Click here to nominate and for a list of past recipients. Nomination deadline is 5pm on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Award winners will be recognized on Thursday, May 9, 2024, 9:30 am at the PTSA General Membership Meeting being held in the MIHS Library Presentation Room. We look forward to your nominations and the opportunity to recognize those who have made a difference for MIHS students!

MI PTA Council Awards Nominations

It’s time to recognize those amazing individuals and organizations that have served the students and families of MISD!

Each year, the Mercer Island PTA Council recognizes outstanding volunteers and educators (including committees, departments, or programs) whose creativity, innovation, dedication, and hard work make a difference for Mercer Island Schools and our students. These awards are meant to reward those individuals or groups who stand out among all of the great volunteers at the local and district level. Awards may be given for outstanding work during this school year, or for a person's continuing dedication and service throughout his or her tenure with the Mercer Island Schools.

Help Stock the Staff Mini Kitchen

As we start a new year, please help the PTSA stock the mini kitchen in the high school staff lounge. The mini kitchen is a place where teachers can grab a quick snack for a little extra energy boost. It's one way we keep them encouraged and show our appreciation. Items purchased off of this wishlist will ship directly to the school. Your support is greatly appreciated! Purchase items here.

Mock SAT/ACT Tests

MIHS PTSA provides testing opportunities as a chance to practice a real test, become familiar with a testing environment, and help identify which testing platform is best for each individual student. All this in a 'Mock' situation where tests are to recorded or submitted to any high school or college organization. This is a perfect chance to 'try out' these tests. Learn more about the Mock SAT/ACT tests offered by the PTSA.

Class of 2024 Grad Night Party

Registration for the Grad Night Party is now available. Early bird pricing available until Friday, April 5- click here for more info and a link to the order form. The Senior Activities Committee (SAC) has been busy since the start of the school year planning the Grad Night Party and a few other senior activities. As we embark upon a very active graduation season, we wanted to share with you the things we know so far and will commit to sharing additional information as it becomes available. Mother's Day 5k Run

The MIHS International Entrepreneurship class is hosting a Mother's Day 5K on Saturday, May 11 with all proceeds raised going to MIYFS, MIHS ASB, and The First Night Project. Click here to view the race course and register for this fun run now!

MIHS Drama Presents: Servant of Two Masters

Please join MIHS’ Drama Department as they present their spring play, Servant of Two Masters, by Carlo Goldoni and translated by Edward J. Dent. A timeless comedy about love, passion and mistaken identity, Servant of Two Masterstells the story of Truffaldino, who takes on two masters in order to get a good meal. Chaos, confusion and hilarity ensue. Pulling from the Italian tradition of commedia dell’arte, this show uses improvisation and mask work to tell its colorful and fun tale. Come join the laughter. Rising Senior Case Study and College Fair on April 30th, 5:00 pm @MIHS

Rising MIHS seniors (Class of 2025) and their parents are invited to attend a simulated college admissions evening, also known as a Case Study. Our seasoned college admissions officers will review three sample applications, then engage in a panel discussion in front of the live audience. Case Studies explore the qualities and values sought after by colleges in their annual selection process.

Following the Case Study presentations, there will be a College Fair with more than 30 schools represented, along with MIHS counseling, AP, Athletics and Career Hub staff. We are co-hosting this event with Bellevue High School and look forward to welcoming the Wolverine community to our school.

Prom Dresses & Wear Donation

Prom Season is right around the corner. The MI Thrift Stop is looking for donations of prom dresses & wear that you may have tucked away in a closet. Collection will be accepted throughout all of April then put on display. You can drop your donation, Sunday - Thursday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Summer J Camp Now Hiring

J Camp counselors work in teams to create meaningful, fun, and safe experiences for kids. Together with dozens of your peers, you will develop leadership and problem-solving skills; learn how to empower, motivate, and coach others; and have a fabulous summer! Click here for more info.

AI + X: Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Fall Program by Stanford/MIT Alumni
Inspirit AI Scholars equips middle and high school students with an AI toolkit to build a capstone project, AI + X, that draws on students' unique interests, from sustainability improvements to cancer diagnosis to criminal justice reform and more.
