Information for MIHS Seniors and Senior Families

Dear Seniors and Senior Families:

Welcome to an amazing year of your lives. We hope this is a year of celebration, joy, and rich memories of time spent together.  But it’s a busy year.  In order to help all our Seniors and their families navigate this year, we hope to share as much information, as early as possible, so planning can take place.

Remember you can also check the Seniors tab on the PTSA website for more information.

Mock SAT/ACT Tests

MIHS PTSA provides 6 testing opportunities as a chance to practice a real test, become familiar with a testing environment, and help identify which testing platform is best for each individual student. All this in a ‘Mock’ situation where tests are not recorded or submitted to any high school or college organization. This is a perfect chance to ‘try out’ these tests.

Learn more about the Mock SAT/ACT tests offered by the PTSA.

President’s Letter

Greetings, MIHS Parents!

Happy Summer!  We hope you are having some great adventures and are also getting some time to relax with your families.  We are looking forward to the upcoming school year! School begins before Labor Day weekend this year on Wednesday, September 1st. Today’s newsletter is filled with Back-to-School information. You can also find up-to-date school news on both the MIHS Website and the MIHS PTSA website.

So, let’s get straight to the questions we are hearing most from our parent community.  The three main questions we have been getting are: 1) Are we going back to school in person? 2) Will the school schedule be full-time (pre-Covid)? and 3) Will kids be required to wear masks?

The answers to these questions are Yes, Yes and Yes.  Our schools follow the Washington State Dept. of Health guidelines, which can be found HERE. As we all know, these guidelines are subject to change, so if you’d like to follow along on the health parameters that our school is currently following, we suggest monitoring this site.

A few key points of information:

  • MIHS PTSA Membership enrollment is live!  Please consider joining our PTSA.
  • MIHS Back to School Forms are now online! RSVP Skyward registration is open.
  • MIHS Fee and Photo Days are coming up on August 24/25. Information can be found here. We are in need of volunteers to help with this event!  Please sign up HERE if you are available to help.
  • Is your family new to the Mercer Island School District?  Many of your questions can be answered HERE.
  • MIHS Main Office is open 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM M-F. The counseling center staff will be back on 8/18.

As September nears, our newsletter will begin to land in your inbox weekly. Please feel free to contact us anytime and we will do our best to answer your questions.

Best wishes for the rest of your summer!
