Staff Appreciation - Lunar New Year Luncheon
The PTSA needs your help with our Year of the Dragon Lunar New Year Luncheon on Tuesday, February 13th. Our teachers and staff look forward to these lunches and are truly grateful for your contributions.

2nd Annual BSU Dinner

Local Levy for Schools Could Increase Under Proposed Legislation

Supporting Our Student Community Through the Counseling Department
The counseling department has reached out for support in collecting some items to help our student community! We know how important it is for a student to be well fed, well rested and comfortable when they come to school in order to feel and do their best. Finals Week Snack Volunteers Needed
The MIHS PTSA wants to recognize our students’ hard work this first semester and provide some much-needed stress relief during Finals Week (delayed schedule). We need volunteers to distribute snacks Tuesday-Thursday 10:30-12:30p. If you would like to help, please click here to sign up.
Mercer Island High School Drama Production of Little Women
Please join the MIHS Drama department as they perform Little Women, the loved and famous story by American author Lousia May Alcott. The four March daughters—Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy—continue to live in the hearts of readers, causing smiles and tears, triumph and tragedy as they grow up, fall in love and face life. Mercer Island Healthy Youth Forum
Today’s youth experience challenges and stress that are unique to this generation. In an effort to elevate the voices of Mercer Island youth and to learn ways to best support them, the City of Mercer Island Healthy Youth Initiative is hosting the annual MI Healthy Youth Forum on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

Save the date: Future Islander Night
Future Islander Night is a chance for parents of current Islander Middle School students and other high school age students and families living on Mercer Island but not enrolled in MISD to visit the high school to learn about classes, curriculum, programs, school groups, and athletics. The event will be held on Thursday, January 25, from 5-8pm.

Yearbook Portraits Due Dec. 15th

MISD Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy Workgroup
The Mercer Island School District is forming a workgroup to help guide and develop an initial AI policy and/or procedures for our school district. We are looking for parents to participate in this process. You do not need to be an early adopter or tech expert to participate in the workgroup, we want to ensure that we have diverse viewpoints represented.

Learn How to Combat Stereotypes about the AANHPI Community
Make Us Visble believes that inclusive education does not need policy for it to happen, and we are hosting an online professional development workshop on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 (4-6 p.m.). We are partnering with the Asian American Education Project (AAEdu) and the Wing Luke Museum to put on a workshop centering on AANHPI issues, history, and resources. It will be free and teachers can earn 2 clock hours. You can register here.
