Special PTSA Membership Meeting

You are invited to attend a special general membership meeting on October 18, 2023 at 9am-9:30am on Zoom to discuss and vote on the following topic, vetted and proposed by vote of the MIHS PTSA Board:

Proposal: a vote to authorize allocating $20,000 to the Fitness Center renovation initiative, with funds coming from the unused Senior Activity Committee's Senior Party Funds from the Class of 2020. The proposal would allocate the funds as a gift from the Class of 2020. (This was the class that graduated without a Senior Party due to Covid-19).

Homecoming Week

• Homecoming Assembly: October 13th – 1:30-3:30pm
• Homecoming Parade: October 13th – 5:00pm. The parade will begin at the Upper Northwood Parking Lot and leave down 86th Ave SE. Then, the parade will turn onto SE 42nd St., where it will carry on to 92nd Ave SE, turn left to SE 41 St., and finish behind the school.
• Homecoming Football Game: October 13th - 7pm at MIHS Stadium
• Homecoming Dance: October 14th – 7PM - 11:30PM at MIHS Gym. Tickets will be sold from October 11-13th for $20 with ASB and $30 for guests and those without ASB.

Volunteers needed! We need volunteers to stand at street corners and make sure that there are no outside disruptions during the parade!! Click here to sign up.

Curriculum Night
Wednesday, September 27 | 5-8pm

During this evening, parents will be able to meet their students' teachers, learn their goals and objectives, and get an idea of what their expectations are for student performance. The questions addressed to teachers at this event should be of a general nature for the benefit of all. If parents have specific questions about their child's performance, please schedule a conference with the teacher outside of Curriculum Night. Click here for schedule of events.

Staff Appreciation

The first MIHS Staff Appreciation luncheon will be on Monday, October 2nd. It will be a Korean Food Luncheon celebrating Chuseok, Korean Thanksgiving Day. While the food will be purchased, if you would like to contribute by donating drinks or desserts and helping with setup, serving, or cleaning up, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please sign up here.

Please bring all drinks and desserts to the school staff room by 11am on Monday, October 2nd.

Fees and Photos Day Make Up

If you did make it to Fees and Photos Day, please plan on coming to school early on August 30th (the first day of school) to collect your textbooks, computers, parking pass (if applicable), and more. The office opens at 7:30 am. Photo make-ups will take place September 6th from 7 am to 12 pm.

Bring your family to Mercer Island’s Juneteenth Community Celebration hosted by Mercer Island High School’s Black Student Union (BSU) and sponsored by the City of Mercer Island.  We will have fun kids’ activities, live music, food trucks, and MIHS dance team performance.
