Now is the time to order 2023 congratulatory Grad Grams!

For the past 30 years, family, friends, businesses, and community organizations have sent Grad Grams to Mercer Island students. This year we are selling Grad Grams to students completing Preschool, Kindergarten, 5th, 8th and 12th grades. Each Grad Gram is printed on parchment paper, personalized with your congratulatory message, and mailed directly to the graduate’s home. All proceeds from the sales of Grad Grams go to the Mercer Island Community Scholarship Program, which recognizes outstanding MIHS graduating seniors. Your support makes a difference!

Staff Appreciation

Last call of the year to stock the Mini Kitchen! The staff truly appreciates all your generosity by keeping them stocked with snacks, gum, and candy. Please consider sending items one more time to keep them full through the end of the school year.  All items will ship directly to the high school if you use the registry address on this Amazon wishlist.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon Help - We are hosting a Chinese-themed staff appreciation luncheon on MONDAY, MARCH 27th. Sign up here. Items can be homemade or purchased from a local establishment. This is one way we can acknowledge the significant and sacrificial work done by our teachers, administrators and classified employees, and we know that it is much appreciated.

PTSA Reflections Art Program

Many thanks to all the students, family, and friends who attended the Reflections Awards Ceremony on February 8th! It was a wonderful evening celebrating the Arts and all the students who submitted for this year’s Reflections Art Program with the theme: Show your Voice! Special thank you to Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle who congratulated each of the students present at the awards ceremony.

Thank You to Ijeoma Oluo

Much gratitude to Mercer Island High School's Black Student Union who arranged for Ijeoma Oluo to speak at a school wide assembly on February 10th in honor of Black History Month. Her presence and her message were so powerful and much needed. Thank you to the Mercer Island Schools Foundation and the MIHS PTSA for their generosity in funding this incredible opportunity for all our students and staff!  Read more about it here.

Staff Appreciation 

February is Heart Health Month so let's show some love to our amazing staff by serving them a heart healthy lunch on Thursday, February 16th. Our teachers and staff look forward to these lunches and are truly grateful for your contributions. Take a moment and look through the Sign Up Genius and sign up to help. Please drop off items to the staff lounge by 10am on Thursday February 16th.
